Restock alerts and the stock-by-type view
Running out of Domex on a Tuesday costs a cleaner's afternoon. A restock level per item and one red bar on a page you already look at is the whole system.
Restock levels
One number per item: when stock in storage falls below it, the item is flagged. Set it on the item, or in bulk from the catalogue. A rule of thumb: two weeks of normal consumption, which the stock report can tell you after a month of use. Assets have no level.
Where alerts show
On My day, a restock card with the count of low items and the top three. On the stock-by-type view, red bars. On the Inventory page header, a badge. Optionally, a weekly WhatsApp to whoever does the buying, listing what is low.
Reading stock by type
Three category cards with value at cost and the number of low items; then every item as a bar. Bar length is stock relative to the most you have ever held; the red tick is the restock level; a red bar is below it. The small grey figure is pieces on unit shelves rather than in storage — included in value, excluded from the restock test, because a bottle in 2E cannot be sold from 3C.
From alert to order
Order list gathers every low item with a suggested quantity (restock level × 2 minus stock), grouped by the supplier you set on the item. Print it, or paste it into a message. When the delivery arrives, Added to storage per item — or paste the delivery note as a list.
