Move-in to move-out: the life of a tenancy inside Premises

A tenancy is a sequence of dates with money attached. The platform knows the sequence; this page walks it, so you know what will happen on its own and where you are needed.

By the end of this pageYou will see the whole arc of a tenancy as the platform sees it, and know the six moments that need a decision from you.

Where you are needed

Six times. Adding the client. Recording deposits (which ones and how much). Preparing the lease. Deciding at sixty days — renew or not. Recording notice with a date. The move-out inspection and deposit return. Everything between those is the platform's.

Renewal

From the client's page, Renew: new end date, new rent if it changes (the repeating invoice updates from the date you choose), and a new lease generated from the same template with the new terms. The old lease stays on file as history.

Early termination

Record the move-out date; the platform proposes the final invoice and shows the deposit position. Whether early termination forfeits part of the deposit is a clause in your lease, not a rule in the software — the deductions step lets you apply it.

The tenant's side

The portal shows the tenancy dates, the rent, deposits held, and a warning at sixty days so the renewal conversation starts from both sides. After move-out, their invoices and signed lease stay readable to them for ninety days, then the portal closes.

History is never deleted. A past tenancy stays on the unit and on the client. Add the same person to a different unit two years later and their file is already there.
