"View as" a tenant: checking what your client will see before they see it
The fastest way to find the wrong rent, the missing lease or the unpaid invoice from two years ago is to look at the portal as the tenant will. View as does that without a password and without logging you out.
How
From the clients list or a client's page, View as. Owners and admins only. The portal opens as that tenant — their balance, invoices, lease, tickets — with a dark banner across the top saying whose view it is and a Close tenant view button. Your staff session is untouched: open My day in another tab and you are still you. The switchboard in the person menu does the same from any page.
What you can do in that mode
Everything the tenant can see, you can see. Actions that write as the tenant — paying, signing, raising a ticket — are disabled, so you cannot accidentally sign a lease on their behalf. Tenants who never activated their portal can still be viewed; that is the common case before the first invitation.
What is logged
Start and end, who, which tenant, how long. The tenant does not see the visit on their side, but the audit log has it, and an owner can review who has been looking at which tenants. Use it for checking, not browsing.
When to use it
Before the first invitation, always. After a renewal, to see the new lease landed. When a tenant says "the portal shows X" and you think it shows Y. When onboarding a receptionist, to show them what tenants see.
