Turnover cleaning for short stays: faster rota, same checklist
A short-stay unit turns over in the hours between one guest's checkout and the next guest's check-in. The job is the same shape as a turnover — inspect, clean, restock, ready — with a shorter list and a clock that counts in hours.
The changeover checklist
Shorter than a turnover, longer than a weekly clean: strip and make beds, bathroom, kitchen surfaces and dishes, floors, bins, restock the kit, a five-point inspection. Set it in Housekeeping › Setup alongside the other two. Everything on it is due every time; no intervals.
Timing
Changeovers are measured in hours from checkout to ready. The Airbnb page shows the average and the worst for the month; a cleaner's scorecard shows their average. A building averaging three hours with a four-hour gap between guests is fine; at three and a half it is not, and the report says so before a guest arrives to a dirty room.
Pools and pay
Short-stay cleaning is often paid per job. Create a pool of cleaners who take changeovers; jobs offer to the pool in rotation or by proximity, and the first to accept has it. The per-job rate is on their employment record and flows to payroll as a variable line.
