Paying from the portal: what tenants see and how you record it

Until payment links go live, paying from the portal is scan-and-tell: the tenant scans your QR, pays in their wallet, and tells you the reference. You confirm in one tap. It is not automatic, and it is still faster than the old way.

By the end of this pageYou will know what a tenant sees when they pay, how the 'I've paid' note reaches you, and how to confirm it without retyping.

What the tenant sees

Pay on any open invoice lists your payment methods from Settings. Each wallet shows a QR with the amount and the invoice number pre-filled as the reference, and an Open button that hands the payment to the wallet app on the same phone. Bank transfer shows the account details and the reference to use. Cash at reception shows the invoice number to bring.

"I've paid"

After paying, the tenant taps I've paid: amount, the wallet's reference number, optionally a screenshot. This is not a payment record — the platform cannot see your GCash — it is a note that lands in your Inbox as "payment to confirm", with the invoice, amount and reference filled in.

Confirming

Check your wallet or bank for the reference, then Confirm on the Inbox item: the payment is recorded with the tenant's reference and the date, the invoice status computes, the tenant's portal shows Paid. If the amount differs from what arrived, edit before confirming. If nothing arrived, Not received tells the tenant to check.

A Pay now button will take the card or wallet payment inside the portal and record it on its own, with the processor's reference, the moment it clears. The QR method stays for tenants who prefer it. See the roadmap.

Why the reference matters. Thirty tenants, thirty transfers on the 5th. The invoice number in the reference is what lets you match them in seconds instead of by amount and guesswork. The portal puts it there so the tenant does not have to remember.
